Noah's Football Experience

  

     Noah's second year of playing on the QO Middle School Football League couldn't be more different than his first.  This team has several players who have never played football before and for whatever reason, several of the players don't seem to have it in their heart to play the game of football.  So, this puts a lot of pressure on the 3-4 that really want to be there, Noah is absolutely one of those kids.  But what it also means is that Noah is having the season of his life.  He plays offense and defense, doesn't come out for one play of the game and is really the go to person for so many of the plays.  Noah is the quarterback on offense and a linebacker on defense.  And I must admit that I am so surprised that they chose Noah to play QB.  But Coach Bishop needed someone who knew the plays because of the inexperienced team and that was Noah as he was on the team last year.
     Noah has really developed as a quaterback this year.  He has had some amazing throws.  Throwing a winning touchdown in overtime, throwing and then being pummeled to the ground the minute the ball left his hand.  He has done great!!  One play that particularly stands out was one where Noah threw a short ball to Titus, who was then getting tackled by two of the opponents when Noah had the presence of mind to yell, "Titus, throw it back."  Titus did and Noah ran for a touchdown!  It was an awesome play and really shows Noah's presence of mind to make game winning plays!!  The team and crowd went crazy after that play.  Noah is getting a lot of accolades for his playing at quarterback.  But then you watch Noah at defense and you can just tell he loves to hit!!  He loves making those physical tackles!  We've known since he was a baby that he would love that; it just fits him.  Noah is a beast on that field.  He doesn't come out for one play because they need him for every play.
     When I ask Noah what he wants to play next year as a freshmen, he says he doesn't know.  I don't know either as I have seen the heartache Tobin has endured this year as quarterback and I don't want both of my sons to experience that.  When you look at the horizon of Noah's football experience for QO it doesn't seem to look like Tobin's does.  It seems to come easier for Noah.  We will see next year what Foringer does with Noah.  I am not sure Noah will have a choice in what he wants to play.  They may need a quarterback.  But at least he will be a quarterback who can hit!!
